Welcome to strat-talk! If you lot're trying to become the arm in, information technology might be a screw in or pop in depending on what kind of guitar you accept. If by doesn't move, y'all hateful that it isn't effective equally a tremolo arm, I'd check to see if your bridge is flush with the body. if information technology'southward affluent with the torso, and so you won't be able to bend upwardly, merely should be able to curve down.
I personally just leave the tremolo crenel cover on the back off, but that's but me. hither is a video that will help yous set things up.

Thanks! I take a strat

Different strats take different bridges, and different kinds of tremolo arms. My Squier CV60s strat has a different kind of trem arm and setup than a Fender American Deluxe. Pics would be helpful in solving this trouble.
What exactly do you mean by "move?"

the 6 screws on your bridge seems to be too tight causing it not to move.

If information technology is a used guitar, open up the back trem cover and check to brand sure that at that place isn't a block of forest put in between the trem block and the woods of the body. If it is new... Try pushing on the very tip of the bar for leverage. If it nevertheless doesnt piece of work, try loosening the springs, if that doesn't work, information technology must be the half dozen screws that are screwed in as well tight... Loosen them. Hope that helps!

Wow, BHighkin, that tip on the movie is astonishing. I did it in my MIJ Squier, I think not so precisely, because information technology took me 15 minutes, and the issue is crawly. I tin can use whammy bar as I want, in 2 ways and everything always stay in tune. Thanks much! :)

Beginning, you need to be sure someone hasn't blocked the tremolo. Take the cover off the back and check to see if there is a cake of wood wedged in betwixt the tremolo cake and the body. Side by side, lookout this video and be sure your bridge screws aren't tightened downwards all the way. They accept to be slightly loosened and then they will act every bit a pin for the span.
